This is the first I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People by Malcolm Gladwell, which I had heard about again and again before reading it, and curious to see how his work would expect. Outside is certainly interesting, but after about half the I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People, I felt as if things were getting repetitive. He made his point that people at the top of their field’ve got talent, as well as certain important opportunities on the go, but that luck plays a negligible role in their success. This “revelation” is interesting, though by no means surprising or revolutionary to me, and so after a moment, it felt as if he had just regurgitating his point again and again using different examples. I did like that he has chosen a wide range of analysis areas from technology to sports and everything in between, and his writing style is easy to get into, but all in all, I was a little disappointed. After hearing so much about the author and his brilliance, I guess my expectations may be too high. That being said, I’m willing to give him another chance and maybe try one of his I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People. Any suggestions will be welcomed!
I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater, and long sleeve t-shirt
More the science from Gladwell. The premise is that people need more than talent to succeed, they need the opportunity. Everything from when you were born, your ethnic background, and your economic status can affect your chances of success in life. I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People
Gladwell gives us an anecdote example after the other, and it’s interesting, but hard to put into use. So, all the Valleys computer first to be born in a period of years. What do I do with that?
On the other hand, the fact is, even with access to a computer or football talent, it still takes many years of training, about ten at least, to become a “genius” in a chosen field is good knowledge. It takes hard work. Like the saying goes, How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!
If you like Gladwell’s other I Like Sharks and Maybe 3 People you will like this one, too, but it’s not required reading by any means.
