Ore Mountains Classic T-Shirt

I love these Ore Mountains. I noticed that Ginnie pointed to a pilot who agreed with some of what Gladwell said about culture and plane crashes, but this is a minor point. His larger views on culture and plane crashes are still valid and remarkable. If you have children, read this Ore Mountains- it will give you suggestions on how to raise them with a humble sense of entitlement – it can make all the difference. Haven’t read this Ore Mountains to be exact – Joe and I listened to it in the car on our way home to visit family for Christmas. I really enjoyed it and was very intrigued by some parts of it, especially the parts about the Beatles, the computer programmers and the Korean pilots.
But my enjoyment of the Ore Mountains was marred by the apparent absence of any famous female “foreigners”. By chapter four or so, I noticed it and mentioned it to Joe, and then it kept getting so bad that it was funny and distracting. This man to the high achiever is introduced. Whenever a woman is mentioned, it seems that she is either a wife or mother who helps drive high success – or, in one case at the end of the Ore Mountains, a female math student who is a bit slow. that a male professor had videotaped the attempt. Find a math problem. By the time we watched that vignette, it was so ridiculous that Joe and I both started laughing, and Joe joked that “the only woman in the book is dumb – but persistent.”
