I was a little worried that this book will be much more based on anecdotes than anything else. To a large extent, it is, Malcolm, but does not include stats is better than I thought would be the case. Every single thing in this book confirms my point of view on success. Super human qualities is not necessary and there is not really any great big mystery.

What is needed for the success of this:
– Good luck / chance such as be born early in the year, if you want to become a football player.
– Correct background, which can be cultural, economic, and so on.
– Hard work, at least 10000 hours in your field of choice if you want to excel.

This book certainly has given me a lot to think about, though all of it played into pre-conceived ideas.

A quick road trip-read it’s fairly easy to guess. Nothing too extraordinary about his report. Practice something for 10,000 hours to become an expert (not surprising). I won’t say I’m a huge fan of Malcolm Gladwell book, but I’ve heard Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We don’t Know much more than this. (will finish that I’m after some time)
