I generally like this author but this book not so much. There were several sections where it felt like whole paragraphs were missing. The names were super confusing and several times I had to go back to the beginning of the chapter to tell whose head I was in. And it didn’t make sense when I did. There were several elements that needed much more elaboration – and we didn’t get it. Karma, the alpha’s real job, and how he truly supported himself. The omega is a doctoral student so that made sense at least

This was a well-written, rapid-paced, fated mates shifter book. I completely loved Bruin, and Darius’s awkwardness was so endearing! The strength of each character was wonderful, and the similarities that they had in their pasts made their presence even more significant (past similarities were due to completely different circumstances).

Bruin was an eco-friendly contractor who moved from one job to the next. Never truly feeling at home. Darius was a professional student who, for all his book smarts, never really mastered socializing or fitting in with a group (even at home as a child). When Bruin & Darius met at Animals, they instantly knew they were mates. Darius, however, was hesitant to move the relationship forward for fear of disappointing Bruin. When Bruin overhears part of Darius’s conversation about needing to talk to him about something, Darius finally tells Bruin his concern. With that issue resolved, the two continue planning their new home and trip. As issues arise for them, they tackle them directly and together (even when Darius starts really losing it Bruin is calm and unwavering).
I REALLY loved Bruin! Everyone needs a Papa Bear like him!
