Removed my rating on this based on recent reviews and Twitter threads I’ve come across. One that I find very interesting and thorough that I think you should check out is this. While I would criticize her protagonist’s good biracial identity, feeling like it was added as an afterthought or an attempt to make it more “interesting”, there are a lot of violations. racist and harmful here that I didn’t’ I didn’t consciously realize it was my own mistake and something I’ve always focused on getting better at. I am listening and am saddened that this has confused readers and I hope that spreading awareness will prevent hurting others in the future.
