I also really liked the world, the magic system, and the Scholomance itself. It’s interesting, incredibly detailed, and quite dark and dangerous for students. I loved it. BUT as I said earlier, this is VERY heavy on exposition! I feel like the author figured out all these cool details about how the world works and the magic system, but instead of some of them in where it smoothly fits the narrative and saving some of it to share in other places, we get ALL of it. (maybe we don’t actually get all of it, but it kind of feels that way.)
